The top images I rendered from Maya after completing the UV mapping for Mila. I did three passes. The first pass was simulating AO by turning all the materials assigned to the object white. The second pass is a specular pass and the last is a colour pass from the original Z-Brush polypaints that I did at the beginning of the character concept.
These three images were done in Photoshop starting with the above passes from Maya. The aim was to explore a variety of looks in a short amount of time. I played around with colours, textures and materials to give each image a different look (getting all of the bad ideas out of my system ;).

Finally finished most of the texture maps for Trav. Still have some tweaking to do but here is what he looks like so far. I used a mixture of Photoshop and Bodypaint to generate the texture maps and finished up with Maya for the rendering. I am planning to use render passes for the final images to have a bit more control over the final outcome.

Trav modelling part 2 from carlo kasongo on Vimeo.
In this video I show the second part of the modelling. Most shapes were refined and smaller details was added.
I used ZBrush polypaint to quickly block in the main colours. The next step I needs to take for this character will be to UV and add texture and maybe sculpt some smaller details such as facial pores etc. If I have the time!

This is the blocking in phase of the modelling process. I will then take this and refine the shapes and all the details, Hopefully that would be the end of modelling for this character and on to the next one!
